Privacy notice

Your data, kept simple.

1. Who we are

International Friendly (“IF”, “we”) is responsible for the personal data described in this notice. It is the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Contact: hello@internationalfriendly.org

2. What we collect

When you use the “Notify me” form

To stop spam

To block automated abuse of the form, we keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address together with the time you submitted the form. We can’t turn it back into your IP address. It is only used for one hour and is deleted automatically after that.

When you visit the site

Like every website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, the page requested, date and time, and browser type. These are kept for a limited time for security and to keep the site running.

We don’t use cookies, analytics or tracking of any kind. If you choose a language, your browser remembers that choice on your own device; it is never sent to us. All fonts and images are served from our own site, so no third-party service sees your visit.

3. Why we use it

4. How long we keep it

We keep your email address until we have told you that sign-up is open. After that we delete it, unless you choose to register your business. If you withdraw your consent or ask us to delete it sooner, we will.

5. Who else can see it

We never sell or share your data. Our website and email are hosted by DreamHost, which stores the data on our behalf and may not use it for anything else. DreamHost’s servers are in the United States. Where data leaves the EU, it is protected by the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

To use any of these rights, email hello@internationalfriendly.org. We will reply within one month.

7. Complaints

If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Finnish supervisory authority, the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi), or to the data protection authority in your own EU country.

8. Changes

If we change how we use your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects what you agreed to, we’ll ask you again first.
